Recap: Parshall Braves vs. Westhope/Newburg Sioux
After a string of six wins, the Parshall Braves's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westhope/Newburg. If Parshall hoped to take revenge for the 50-45 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Westhope/Newburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kimberly Tabarez led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. Tabarez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Marleigh Henry, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Parshall's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-10. As for Westhope/Newburg, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
Parshall won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ray at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Ray is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Westhope/Newburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
