Softball Recap: Trimble County's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Trimble County dropped their record down to 9-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the South Oldham Dragons, falling 13-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Trimble County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaelyn Holbrook, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

As for South Oldham, their record is now 8-10. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Trimble County: they've now won eight in a row.

On South Oldham's side, Kaylee Fitzner made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Fitzner was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Grace Turner was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Kaitlyn Sibley also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trimble County will host Gallatin County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Oldham, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Simon Kenton at 6:00 p.m. The Dragons will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests.
