Basketball Game Preview: Berkner Rams vs. Pearce Mustangs

Berkner is 2-8 against Pearce since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Berkner Rams will welcome the Pearce Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Berkner's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 25 contests.

Last Friday, Berkner was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 64-58 to Dallas Jesuit.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Pearce on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 57-36 margin over Nimitz. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Vikings are ranked 918th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pearce's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 20.5 points. As for Berkner, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-12.

Berkner came out on top in a nail-biter against Pearce when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 67-65. Will Berkner repeat their success, or does Pearce have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
