Basketball Recap: NorthPoint Christian Academy Comes Up Short

NorthPoint Christian Academy lost against Lee Park Prep back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks took a 74-59 bruising from the Lee Park Prep Knights. The NightHawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, NorthPoint Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabe Spann almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. Spann is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chelan Chudgar, who posted 15 points.

It was another big night for Isaac Watkins, who had 19 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks for Lee Park Prep. Peyton Griffin was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points and seven boards.

NorthPoint Christian Academy now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Lee Park Prep, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

NorthPoint Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-51 win against Providence Classical on the 4th. As for Lee Park Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-57 victory against Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy on the 7th.
