Recap: Nicolet Knights vs. Slinger Owls

The Nicolet Knights stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Slinger, posting a 84-44 win at home. Given Nicolet's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Slinger is ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nicolet's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Damon Landrum jr. led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six rebounds. David Bolden was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven assists and three steals.
Nicolet pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.2 points per game. As for Slinger, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Nicolet will head out on the road to take on Hartford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nicolet knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 contests -- so hopefully Hartford likes a good challenge. As for Slinger, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Bend West at 7:00 p.m.
