Baseball Recap: Swampscott Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Swampscott and Peabody Veterans Memorial meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Sunday. The Big Blue fell just short of the Tanners by a score of 2-1. If the Big Blue were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Tanners when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Swampscott's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Swampscott is taking a road trip to take on Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, they will take on Revere at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
