Basketball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage lost against Garner back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Heritage Huskies took a 65-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Garner Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Trojans are ranked 11th).

Heritage's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Garner, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Heritage will square off against Wake Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Heritage is facing Wake Forest at the right time seeing as Wake Forest is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Garner, they will face off against The Burlington School at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Garner knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully The Burlington School likes a good challenge.
