Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pacific Ridge). They never let the Orange Glen Patriots onto the board and left with a 5-0 win on Wednesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Firebirds' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Patriots are ranked 50th).

Pacific Ridge hit Orange Glen with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Nick Axelson (2), Max Pulvers, Dylan Kyle, and Finn Colvin.

Pacific Ridge pushed their record up to 6-2-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Orange Glen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Pacific Ridge will head out to take on Bishop's at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Bishop's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Orange Glen has already played their next contest (against La Jolla Country Day), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
