Baseball Recap: West Clermont Wolves vs. Fairfield Indians
West Clermont proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Fairfield Indians 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since May 15, 2024.
Luke Knorr looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Gavin Speranza was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
The victory got West Clermont back to even at 10-10. As for Fairfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 16 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-21 record this season.
