Softball Recap: Fuquay - Varina Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Garner on Monday, Fuquay - Varina came back down to earth. The Bengals came up short against the Garner Trojans on Friday, falling 15-4. The Bengals have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Julie Selig made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Jayda Ours was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Fuquay - Varina's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Garner, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
