Softball Game Preview: Rancho San Juan Trailblazers vs. Soledad Aztecs

The Rancho San Juan Trailblazers will head out to challenge the Soledad Aztecs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Rancho San Juan beat Stevenson 10-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trailblazers.

The team relied heavily on Bella Garcia, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Melony Erazo-Chavez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Soledad). They came out on top against North Monterey County by a score of 14-11 on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Aztecs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Rancho San Juan's record now sits at 4-5. As for Soledad, their record is now 7-5.

Rancho San Juan suffered a grim 13-7 defeat to Soledad in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Trailblazers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
