Basketball Recap: Bethesda Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Highlands Latin last Tuesday, Bethesda Christian came back down to earth. The Bethesda Christian Patriots took a blow against the Westfield Shamrocks on Saturday, falling 67-23. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-9.

Westfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brock Detamore, who posted 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Detamore a new career-high in assists (three). Ryan Hunsucker was another key player, going 5 for 6 on his way to 14 points.

Bethesda Christian now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Westfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Bethesda Christian and Martinsville will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Westfield, they will venture away from home to take on Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Westfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.
