Softball Recap: Whitehall Takes a Loss

Whitehall suffered their closest loss since April 18, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Northampton Konkrete Kids by a score of 4-2. The Zephyrs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Konkrete Kids apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Morgan Laub spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Whitehall saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Tacker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Alyssa Dunbar, who scored a run and stole three bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Whitehall and nudges their season record down to 6-3. As for Northampton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Whitehall will challenge rival Pocono Mountain East at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Northampton is set to square off against their familiar foe Freedom at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
