Recap: West Forsyth Titans vs. Parkland Mustangs
The West Forsyth Titans waltzed into their matchup Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They snuck past Parkland with a 43-39 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Forsyth also won the last time the pair played back in November.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Forsyth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marissa Vernon, who scored 15 points. The match was Vernon's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Campbell McClain, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds.
West Forsyth's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for Parkland, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-7 record last season and are now at 1-8.
West Forsyth will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Southwest Guilford at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. Southwest Guilford will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Parkland won't have much time to rest: their next match is against East Wilkes at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. East Wilkes presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Parkland in North Carolina (East Wilkes is ranked 175th, while Parkland is ranked 419th).
