Baseball Game Preview: Weymouth Wildcats vs. St. John's Prep Eagles

The Weymouth Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the St. John's Prep Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Weymouth's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so St. John's Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Weymouth's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Framingham 9-0. The Wildcats have beaten the Flyers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Flyers has come to flipping the script.

Liam Barr tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Devin Kelsch was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Adrian Alviarez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, St. John's Prep had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Lancers.

Weymouth's record is now 8-4. As for St. John's Prep, their record now sits at 6-4.
