After a string of four wins, Marian Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Panther Valley Panthers by a score of 3-2. If Marian Catholic was looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to Panther Valley when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Marian Catholic actually scored more points across those five sets (99-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-22, 26-24, 10-25, 15-3.

Alena Lombardo paced Marian Catholic's offense, picking up 20 kills. Lombardo got some help from Eris Hayes and her 23 assists. Isabella Horvat controlled things from the service line, finishing with nine aces.

Marian Catholic's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-4. As for Panther Valley, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-0.

Marian Catholic has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Williams Valley on the 30th. As for Panther Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on the 2nd.
