Baseball Recap: Great Crossing Comes Up Short

After flying high against Western Hills last Wednesday, Great Crossing came back down to earth. The Warhawks fell just short of the Franklin County Flyers by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warhawks have suffered since May 14, 2025.

Brayden Beckett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Landen Walters, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Great Crossing's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Franklin County, they pushed their record up to 8-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

While Great Crossing had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
