Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for St. Paul's

St. Paul came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Austin Prep Cougars.

Heather Cotter made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jade Hill, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Charlotte Voge was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

St. Paul's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in four consecutive games.

St. Paul's record now sits at 5-1. As for Austin Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

St. Paul's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-3 victory against Proctor Academy on the 10th. Austin Prep has also already played their next matchup (against Noble & Greenough), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
