League recap: Avon Old Farms falls to upstart Trinity-Pawling

Trinity-Pawling scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Avon Old Farms, 14-8. At the time, the Beavers was ranked eighth in the state, while the Pride was 35th.

Tim Drakeley and David Berment provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Brunswick. The connection went for 91 yards, the longest such play in Erickson this season.

Taft's dynamic duo of Drakeley and Berment proved tough for the Bruins to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Drakeley threw for 399 yards and four touchdowns and Berment had 225 yards receiving. Alex Huard helped Taft's passing attack out by catching four balls for 163 yards.

Leon Cummings was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 207 yards as Salisbury School beat Brunswick. Teammate Darnell Hart added to the ground attack by rushing for 48 yards.

Taft's Drakeley and Berment have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Drakeley has thrown for 399 yards this season, while Berment, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 10 catches for 225 yards. Cummings from the Crimson Knights leads the league in rushing with 207 yards.

The marquee game in Erickson this week will be the clash between Trinity-Pawling and Kent School. David Coratti's team comes into the matchup ranked 18th in the state, while Kent School ranks eighth.

Jarrett Shine's team moved up to 44 from 99 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bruins climbed the ranks as a result of a 62-35 win over the Bruins.
