Football Recap: St. Patrick Falls to Yorkville in First Game of Season + How To Watch

St. Patrick had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yorkville Foxes on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Yorkville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from T.J. Harland, who rushed for 76 yards and one score, and also picked up 62 receiving yards and one touchdown. Jack Beetham was another key signal caller, throwing for 196 yards and one TD while completing 76.2% of his passes.

St. Patrick and Yorkville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Shamrocks will take on Larkin at 7:30 p.m. on the 6th with a big rank advantage (160 vs. 327). Meanwhile, Yorkville (ranked 98th) will meet Joliet West (ranked 218th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
