Baseball Game Preview: Buckley Griffins vs. Oakwood Owls

For the second straight game, Buckley will face off against Oakwood. The Griffins will be playing at home against the Owls at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Buckley didn't have quite enough to beat Oakwood and fell 4-3. The Griffins have struggled against the Owls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Spencer Peterson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Buckley is 3-1 when Peterson posts two or more runs, but 1-4-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Katz, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Oakwood's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Buckley, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.
