Baseball Recap: Bishop LeBlond Takes a Loss

After flying high against Penney on Tuesday, Bishop LeBlond came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 16-4 to the Benton Cardinals on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-4 back in March.

Jackson CDeBaca was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Vincent Ngueyn, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Bishop LeBlond's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Benton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Bishop LeBlond will host West Platte at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Benton, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Maryville at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th.
