Softball Recap: Grand Junction Central Warriors vs. Fruita Monument Wildcats
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Grand Junction Central couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fruita Monument Wildcats on Friday. The Warriors have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Emma Diaz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Grabau, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Grand Junction Central's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Fruita Monument, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-5.
Grand Junction Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fruita Monument has already played their next match, a 12-2 defeat against Cherokee Trail on the 25th.
