Basketball Recap: Killeen Comes Up Short

Killeen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs. The Kangaroos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldawgs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Killeen's defeat dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Copperas Cove, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-18.

Killeen and Copperas Cove could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Killeen (ranked 735th) will meet Midway (ranked 260th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Copperas Cove will face off against Shoemaker at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 293 places (556 vs. 263).
