Carterville came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Murphysboro Red Devils 52-33. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Red Devils back in January, they had to take a 58-47 defeat.

Carterville pushed their record up to 17-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points over those games. As for Murphysboro, their loss dropped their record down to 23-5.
