Basketball Recap: Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles vs. Northwest Grizzlies
Bishop Carroll lost against Northwest back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles took a 67-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northwest Grizzlies. Northwest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Benning, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten assists. With that strong performance, Benning is now averaging an impressive 8.1 assists per game. The team also got some help courtesy of River Peters, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 17 points and eight rebounds.
Bishop Carroll's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points over those games. As for Northwest, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Golden Eagles challenge the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
