Softball Recap: Fairfax Victorious

Fairfax never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against North on Monday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Mustangs. The win continues a trend for the Stampede in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

Emma Saiz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alexa Quiroz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Reilley Bledsoe, who went 2-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI.

Fairfax's record is now 10-6. As for North, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-10.

Fairfax will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
