Baseball Recap: South Plainfield Takes a Loss

The South Plainfield Tigers came up short against the Spotswood Chargers on Saturday and fell 8-4.

South Plainfield got a good showing from Joe Stanzione, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Dan Kapsch was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Aiden McCarthy was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

South Plainfield's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Spotswood, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

Looking ahead, South Plainfield will challenge St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Spotswood, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Rahway at 4:30 p.m. The Chargers are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
