The home team had won the previous three meetings between Castle and Evansville Mater Dei, and Castle kept the tradition alive. The Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats on Friday, sneaking past 31-28. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 28-24 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Castle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Boden Morgan led the charge by throwing for 169 yards and one TD while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also punching in one touchdown on the ground. Austin Pritchard helped Morgan out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and one score.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Castle, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Carter Bobe, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The victory got Castle back to even at 1-1. As for Evansville Mater Dei, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
