Baseball Recap: Glendale Comes Up Short

Glendale had lost 12 straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-24 to make it 13. They lost 12-2 to the Mark Keppel Aztecs. That's two games in a row now that the Dynamiters have lost by exactly ten runs.

Antonio Larcena was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Mark Keppel, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-14-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Mark Keppel's side, Michael Santacruz made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Santacruz was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Arreola, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Mark Keppel is undefeated when Arreola posts two or more runs, but 4-14-1 otherwise. Cayden Hashizume was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Coming up, Glendale will take on Mary Star of the Sea at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dynamiters' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stars have averaged an impressive 12.5 runs per game this season. Mark Keppel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
