Basketball Game Preview: Chaminade-Madonna Lions vs. McArthur Mustangs

Two dominant guards in Nylah Lewis and Ciara Sejour are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Chaminade-Madonna Lions will take on the McArthur Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaminade-Madonna will be strutting in after a win while McArthur will be coming in after a loss.

McArthur will be up against a hot Chaminade-Madonna squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Chaminade-Madonna put the hurt on Hallandale with a sharp 53-31 victory on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly 22 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chaminade-Madonna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmine D Horne, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 27 rebounds. D Horne has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lewis, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, McArthur unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a blow against Northeast, falling 70-23. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 35th).

The win got Chaminade-Madonna back to even at 7-7. As for McArthur, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Chaminade-Madonna was dealt a bruising 57-11 loss at the hands of McArthur in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Chaminade-Madonna was down 42-3.
