Volleyball Recap: Clovis East Takes a Loss

Clovis East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clovis Cougars. If the Timberwolves were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Clovis East started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.

Clovis East's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Clovis, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Clovis East and Clovis should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Timberwolves will take on Central East at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (233 vs. 965). Meanwhile, Clovis (ranked 16th) will meet Clovis West (ranked 62nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
