Volleyball Recap: Jailyn Chase Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Cowan

After losing to Cowan the last time they met, Southern Wells decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Raiders walked away with a 2-0 win over the Blackhawks on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17.

Southern Wells' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jailyn Chase, who had 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave Chase a new career-high. Lexi Pennington was another key player, getting nine assists and six digs.

Southern Wells' record is now 6-2. As for Cowan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Southern Wells didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Knightstown on the 30th. As for Cowan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against KIPP Legacy on the 30th.
