Softball Recap: Lakeview Wins Going Away Against White Cloud

Lakeview won the last time they faced White Cloud and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Indians. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Emma Veenema made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Veenema was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katelyn Buchner, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is also on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Phoebe Main, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

The win got Lakeview back to even at 6-6. As for White Cloud, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Lakeview will challenge Utica at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. White Cloud will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' contest: after the Wildcats face off against the Chieftains, they'll take on White Cloud again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
