Basketball Game Preview: Northeast Vikings vs. Galena Bulldogs

Northeast hasn't had much luck against Galena recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Northeast Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Galena Bulldogs.

Last Friday, Northeast lost to Pleasanton on the road by a 47-30 margin. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Galena put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Girard with points to spare, taking the game 59-45. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Trojans are ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Galena, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Northeast came up short against Galena in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 57-49. Can Northeast avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
