Baseball Recap: Smithville Comes Up Short

If Smithville was feeling good fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Navasota last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bellville Brahmas on Tuesday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Brahmas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Smithville's loss dropped their record down to 8-13-3. As for Bellville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season.

While Smithville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
