The Peetz Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Akron Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peetz is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Friday. Peetz came up short against Otis, falling 10-2. Peetz has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rhyder Bayne and Tanner Wood stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bayne scored a run and stole two bases, while Wood scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Akron came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 13-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Caleb Poss was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Merek Charney was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-5.

Akron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burlington only posted an OBP of .400.

Akron's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Peetz, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Peetz has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like Akron struggles in that department as they've averaged .503. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
