Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Cardinals vs. Jefferson Democrats

The Lincoln Cardinals will venture away from home to face off against the Jefferson Democrats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lincoln will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Ida B. Wells, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lincoln managed a 62-57 victory over Ida B. Wells on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Jefferson had already won 18 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44.7 points) and they went ahead and made it 19 on Saturday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 63-59 W against the Astros.

Jefferson's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.9 points over those games. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Lincoln took a serious blow against Jefferson in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-25. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lincoln was down 39-15.
