Basketball Game Preview: Eaglecrest Raptors vs. Fairview Knights

The Eaglecrest Raptors will take on the Fairview Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eaglecrest will be strutting in after a win while Fairview will be coming in after a defeat.

Eaglecrest will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Arapahoe, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Eaglecrest enjoyed a cozy 56-40 victory over Arapahoe on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raptors.

Eaglecrest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaia Jones, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 16 points and seven assists. That's the most points Jones has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jada Bobb, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Fairview played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Broomfield and fell 70-22. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-9.

Eaglecrest's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Fairview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Eaglecrest suffered a grim 61-41 defeat to Fairview in their previous matchup back in February of 2016. Thankfully for Eaglecrest, Grace O'Neil (who went 8-for-13 en route to 21 points along with seven boards and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
