Volleyball Recap: Sydney Smith and Brinkley Wheat Secure Win for Pepperell

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Pepperell and Cass, and Pepperell kept the tradition alive. The Dragons came out on top against the Colonels by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dragons also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Pepperell was: they took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-15.

Leading Pepperell to victory were Brinkley Wheat and Sydney Smith. Wheat had four digs and two aces, while Smith had three aces and one assist. Those three aces gave Smith a new career-high.

The win got Pepperell back to even at 3-3. As for Cass, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Pepperell will head out to face off against Carrollton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cass, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Pickens at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
