The Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles will square off against the Scottsbluff Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty Tree Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Liberty Tree Academy came up short against Twin Peaks Classical Academy and fell 46-33.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Scottsbluff against Gering on Saturday as the team secured a 74-38 victory. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Liberty Tree Academy better keep an eye on Nate Kelley. He was instrumental in Scottsbluff's win, going 6 for 8 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. Kelley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Rylee Meininger was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Scottsbluff smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Liberty Tree Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Scottsbluff, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
