League recap: Muir tops Arcadia to extend winning streak

Muir added to the longest winning streak in Pacific this week by beating Arcadia, 48-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Glendale lost to Burbank 56-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Brian Gadsby threw for 278 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 12-16 with 1 interception.

Connor Van Ginkel was the best wideout in the league this week as Crescenta Valley bested Hoover. Van Ginkel tallied 3 receptions for 147 yards. Weston Walker helped Crescenta Valley's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 79 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Falcons' Gadsby and Chase Walker have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Gadsby has thrown for 2,028 yards this season, while Walker has 35 catches for 583 yards. The Bulldogs' James Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 960.

The top two teams in Pacific will face off this week when first place Muir takes on second place Crescenta Valley. Muir bested the Apaches last week, while Crescenta Valley beat the Tornadoes.

Williams of the Burbank is only 40 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 94 carries Williams has accumulated 960 yard this year.

Burroughs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,288 from 6,469. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 38-0 victory over Pasadena last week.
