Basketball Recap: Tellico Plains Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Tellico Plains won the last time they faced Sweetwater and things went their way on Friday too. The Tellico Plains Bears put the hurt on the Sweetwater Wildcats with a sharp 82-60 win. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Sweetwater saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hunter Daffron posted 25 points and seven boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daffron has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashten Brown, who put up six points.

The victory (which was Tellico Plains' fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points over those games. As for Sweetwater, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.

Coming up, Tellico Plains will take on Loudon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Tellico Plains' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Polk County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.2 points per game this season.
