Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tyrone). They blew past the Penns Valley Area Rams 12-5 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Tyrone got a great performance from Carter Price as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Price a new career-high.
On the hitting side, B Jones and G Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Jones went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Miller went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Woomer, who earned three runs and one stolen base.
Tyrone hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive matchups.
Tyrone's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Penns Valley Area, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
