Softball Game Preview: Grace Davis Spartans vs. Livingston Wolves

The Grace Davis Spartans will head out to square off against the Livingston Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Grace Davis has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Grace Davis is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Lathrop, falling 22-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Livingston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Beyer by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday.

Mariah Blaine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Livingston let Olivia Costa and Elizabeth Avila run wild. Costa scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Avila scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Livingston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Livingston's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Grace Davis, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Grace Davis couldn't quite get it done against Livingston when the teams last played back in March as they fell 6-3. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
