Volleyball Recap: Alcuin Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Alcuin faced off against Ovilla Christian on Thursday. The Hawks came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0. The Hawks have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-9, 25-14.

Ovilla Christian can attribute much of their success to Gracie Scott, who had eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Scott a new career-high in assists (eight).

Alcuin's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Ovilla Christian, the victory was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Alcuin is set to challenge their familiar foe Cambridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ovilla Christian will take on rival First Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
