Basketball Game Preview: Legacy Lions vs. Port St. Lucie Jaguars

For the first time this season, Legacy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Port St. Lucie Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Legacy faced off against Westwood on Tuesday. The Lions lost 90-65 to the Panthers. The loss put an end to the Lions' undefeated start to the season.

Despite their loss, Legacy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ty Russ @Just.Ty13, who posted 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Arena @Jacob.Shifts, who earned 12 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Port St. Lucie). They blew past Okeechobee 64-28 on Thursday. With the Jaguars ahead 49-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Legacy better keep an eye on Alijah Baez. He was instrumental in Port St. Lucie's win, putting up 14 points. That's the most points Baez has posted since back in January. Leonjay Petritfat was another key player, scoring eight points.

Port St. Lucie was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Port St. Lucie's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Legacy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
