Basketball Recap: Castlewood Comes Up Short

Castlewood was the 70-42 winner over Chester when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Castlewood Warriors lost to the Chester Flyers on the road by a 44-29 margin on Saturday. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.

Sophia Kudrna was Castlewood's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Claire Horn held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Castlewood fell to 2-1. As for Chester, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Castlewood will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hamlin at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Chester and Burke will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
