Covington-Douglas has no trouble against Deer Creek-Lamont

The Covington-Douglas Wildcats waltzed into their matchup Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 54-33 margin over Deer Creek-Lamont. Considering Covington-Douglas has won three matchups by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ford Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Covington-Douglas' points. Another player making a difference was Miguel Tarango, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
The win got Covington-Douglas back to even at 5-5. As for Deer Creek-Lamont, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Covington-Douglas won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wichita HomeSchool on January 5th. Wichita HomeSchool has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 634 points over their last nine games. Deer Creek-Lamont is on the road again on Thursday and play against Kremlin-Hillsdale at 8:00 p.m. on January 11th.
