Bishop Rosecrans had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Tuscarawas Central Catholic on Monday. The Bishops never let the Saints get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Bishops might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Hayden Perdue and Coen Grandstaff were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Perdue struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Grandstaff pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perdue has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Perdue earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base, while Grandstaff went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Jacobie Balo was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Bernath, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Bishop Rosecrans always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Bishop Rosecrans is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, their defeat was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-22.

Coming up, Bishop Rosecrans will head out to square off against Shadyside at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bishops 3.1, the Tigers 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Tuscarawas Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
